Services
What we are asked to do
Five services, each with a scope that is written down before the work starts. Pick the one that fits and the enquiry form arrives with it already selected.
Operations & maintenance
Scheduled service visits, statutory inspections, fault-finding and retrofits across the working life of a turbine. We work to the manufacturer's service schedule where one applies and to an agreed scope where it does not. Every visit opens with a method statement and closes with a written report: what was checked, what was changed, what was left open and what we recommend next. Cover can be a single machine, a whole site, or the gaps in an existing team's calendar.
Typical scope
A service contract for a site, or single visits called off as they are needed.
Included
- Scheduled service to the manufacturer's interval or an agreed one
- Statutory and periodic inspections, with the certificates
- Fault-finding and unplanned call-outs
- Retrofits, upgrades and modification work
- Torque and tension checks with the recorded values
- A written report after every visit
Blade inspection & repair
Blades carry the damage that costs the most and shows the least. We inspect for leading-edge erosion, surface and structural cracks, bond-line separation and lightning-protection continuity, photograph every finding, grade it, and set it against the previous record so that change is visible rather than remembered. The access method is agreed and written into the method statement before anyone goes up. Repairs are carried out in position where the damage allows, and reported with the evidence attached rather than summarised away.
Typical scope
A blade campaign across a site, or one machine after a fault or a lightning strike.
Included
- Ground-based and close visual inspection
- Damage graded, photographed and located on the blade
- Leading-edge erosion repair and protection
- Surface and bond-line repair within the agreed scope
- Lightning-protection continuity testing
- An inspection report with the images attached
Installation & commissioning support
Support for the team putting a turbine up and the team signing it off: mechanical and electrical completion, torque and tension records, cable termination checks, pre-commissioning tests and the punch list that follows. We work to the manufacturer's procedure and to the site's permit system, and hand the paperwork over in the form the client needs rather than the form that suits us. Scope is agreed in writing before mobilisation, and any change is priced before it is carried out.
Typical scope
Support to a principal contractor or an owner through completion and handover.
Included
- Mechanical completion and torque records
- Electrical completion and cable termination checks
- Pre-commissioning checks against the procedure
- Punch-list management through to close-out
- Handover documentation in the client's format
- Technicians added to an existing commissioning team
Site & wind assessment
Before anything is built, the question is whether the wind pays for the machine. We set feasibility out in plain figures: a measurement campaign where one is justified, long-term correction against reference data, hub-height correction for the turbine under consideration, a layout that keeps machines out of each other's wakes, and a yield estimate with its uncertainty stated rather than buried. Planning support covers the technical annexes. Every assumption is listed on the page it affects.
Typical scope
A feasibility study for a landowner, a community scheme or a developer.
Included
- Desk-based feasibility and constraint review
- Wind measurement campaigns where the site justifies one
- Long-term correction and hub-height correction
- Layout options with wake losses quantified
- Annual yield estimates with the uncertainty stated
- Technical input to a planning application
Technician supply
Qualified technicians on assignments from a week to a season, for owners covering absence and for contractors covering a campaign. Every technician arrives with their tickets, their medical and their record of the machines they have worked on, all sent before they travel so that nobody discovers a gap at the tower door. Rates, hours, travel and accommodation are agreed in writing. Where we cannot fill a request with someone suitable, we say so rather than sending whoever happens to be free.
Typical scope
One technician to a small team, on a rate agreed before mobilisation.
Included
- Technicians for scheduled service and call-out work
- Cover for absence, holidays and peak campaigns
- Records, tickets and medicals sent before travel
- Rates, hours and travel agreed in writing
- Assignments from one week upwards
- A named contact for the length of the assignment
